1. What We Collect
We keep data collection to the absolute minimum.
- Budget data (local only by default): transactions, categories, savings goals, and summaries you create are stored on your device using SQLite. We never see this data unless you enable family sharing.
- Family sharing data: if you create or join a family group, your budget data (transactions, categories, savings) is synced to Firebase Firestore under a randomly generated family code. Your name (if you enter one) is stored as a member identifier.
- Device & usage data (ads only): if you view ads, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account credentials
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever
- We do not track your location
- We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone
3. Family Sharing & Firebase
When you enable family sharing, your budget data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore. This allows other devices to sync in real time using your family code.
- Only devices with your family code can access your shared budget
- You can stop sharing at any time — your local data remains intact
- Firebase data is stored in Google's secure cloud infrastructure

4. Advertising
Famoney is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob (a service provided by Google LLC) to display advertisements within the app.
AdMob may collect and process certain information, including:
- Advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID or IDFA)
- Device information (model, operating system, language)
- IP address
- Ad interaction and usage data
This information may be used to provide personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may be asked to provide consent before personalized ads are shown, in accordance with applicable data protection laws such as GDPR. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time within the app (where available).
You can also manage or disable personalized advertising through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset or delete Advertising ID

5. Data Storage & Security
- All local data is stored securely on your device
- Family data on Firebase is protected by Google's security infrastructure
- We do not have access to your budget content unless it is synced via family sharing
6. Children's Privacy
Famoney is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal data through our app, please contact us so we can remove it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
